  • What do we recommend for your first detail?

We recommend the gold package for your first detail. The gold package is considered a deep cleaning package.

  • Why shouldn’t you take your vehicle to an automated car wash?

The worn-in brushes used in these car washes are more likely to cause scratches on your paint and damage your car's clear coat. Automatic car washes cannot clean the nooks and crannies of your vehicle. The dirt in these unreachable spots over time can cause damage. All the sand we have on Kaua’i exposes us to a higher chance of scratching and paint damage to our vehicles.

  • Detailing Vs. Auto Detailing

The main difference between car washing and auto detailing is how in-depth the cleaning is. A car wash is a surface clean meant to keep environmental debris from harming your car's clear coat. Auto detailing is a maintenance service that extends the life of most external and some internal components of your car.

  • Rock Lights vs Underglow

Also known as RGB or color shift rock light kits and “underglow” or “neon underglow,” Rock lights are LED lights usually installed in the wheel wells of a truck. Used by enthusiasts and daily drivers alike, there are no rules for your build and preferences.

  • Vinyl Wrapping | How long will vinyl last?

The main factor concerning durability is exposure to the sun. It will last longer if you can store your vehicle out of the sun. We recommend ceramic coating the finished installation to block harmful UV rays. We expect well-maintained vinyl washed at least twice per month, not constantly exposed to the sun, and has been ceramic coated to last 3-5 years.

  • What is the warranty on vinyl wrapping?

We warranty against visual defects (meaning the look of the vinyl) and adhesive defects that are apparent before or during installation. We will replace any material that prematurely discolors before 2 years from the purchase date unless signs of excessive wear or sun/element/chemical exposure are visible.

The customer must cease use if a defect is present during installation. Replacement after complete installation is up to our discretion.

The warranty will not cover labor costs related to (but not limited to) installation, removal, or lifting of clear coat/paint. Any material damaged after installation through a collision or normal road use is not covered.

  • Does vinyl wrap devalue the car?

When a car is wrapped, the resale value is considerably greater than for a car that has been repainted. This is primarily because the wrapper can be removed without damaging the car. Since the wrap preserved the paint, the value of your car is higher because it still looks new.

  • Does vinyl wrap ruin paint?

Although they've been around for quite some time, many vehicle owners often ask us, does a car wrap damage paint? The truth is that a vinyl or car wrap, as some call it, is safe to apply to any paint – whether it's gloss or a matte finish.

  • What is Ceramic Coating?

Industry-grade ceramic coating is a chemical polymer solution applied to a vehicle's exterior to protect it from external paint damage. Typically applied by hand, it blends with your car's paint and creates an additional hydrophobic layer of protection.

Due to this chemical bonding and the creation of a new layer, the car’s factory paint job remains untouched.

While many car enthusiasts and even detailers believe it to be an alternative to a clear bra (paint protection film), ceramic coating, in reality, is an alternative to waxing. The main idea is to prevent dirt, grime, and stain marks from appearing on the paint job and ruining the clear coat.

Ceramic coating, also sometimes called nano-ceramic coating, is a permanent or semi-permanent solution to your worries depending upon the coating and type of polymer used. Due to its chemically intrinsic properties, it does not break down in normal atmospheric conditions like rain or summer.

  • Is Ceramic Coating worth it?

The short answer is yes. As we have seen in this article, ceramic coating has great benefits that will add value to your car in the long run. It will make your job of cleaning and maintaining it less tedious. So, you spend more time driving and enjoying your car than thinking about ways to protect it.

If you ask us whether it is a one-stop solution for all your paint worries, we will slant to the negative. There’s no one product in the market that will guarantee the complete protection of your car. If there were, we wouldn’t be discussing ceramic coating, one of the finest car paint protection services available today.

Moreover, weighing the cost of ceramic coating against that of the yearly maintenance and waxing makes it a no-brainer.

  • What are the benefits of Ceramic Coating?

You can only imagine the damage that the sun’s harmful UV rays can do to your car’s paint job. Ceramic coating will protect your car’s paint from oxidizing, preventing it from fading and wearing a dull look. This is critical if you park your car outside.

Chemical stains from acidic contaminants in the air are another potential damage to your car. A coating will prevent these contaminants from bonding to the paint. With the air pollution rate only rising in the city, ceramic coating can be a relief.

When it comes to waxing and other types of detailing, washing your car become a headache. With ceramic coating, you don’t have to worry about the polymer wearing off. (Incidentally, removing it completely requires another process involving polishing and wet-sanding.)

Not only does it blend with your car’s paint, but it also repels water. All water-based dirt and grime will bead on the surface and eventually slide off. After a quick jet wash, you have a spotless, ageless car.

This is where the aesthetics all car owners will love. Like a car bra, ceramic coating also blends depth into your paint. It will give your car a glossy look, bringing the best out of the original paint job.

These benefits have revealed the truth about ceramic coating, haven’t they? Over the past few years, its popularity has only risen in and around Houston. Reviews from both users and auto industry experts have been extremely positive.

Looking at our records of the past twelve years here at Vivë Auto Detailing gives us a good idea about car users’ general willingness to try out this superb protection for their car.

But there are still some myths and incorrect information regarding this advanced protection. Some of the most common myths about ceramic coating are listed below.

  • Things ceramic coating will not do.

Protection from All Types of Scratches and Swirl Marks

Ceramic coating will not protect your car from the usual threats: scratches, swirl marks, and rock chips. Despite its blending properties, it still retains the characteristics of paint. This is why you should still expect your car to be at the receiving end of these common, undesirable elements.

For protection from scratches and chipping, you should opt for the more advanced paint protection film.

    Protection from Water Spotting

As discussed before, water-based contaminants will bead on your car’s surface after applying the ceramic coating and eventually slide off. But they still contain natural minerals and soluble particles that will stay on the surface after the water has evaporated.

Ceramic coating cannot get rid of the water spots that are produced. As a result, the removal of this will require a far more hands-on approach.

  • Stop the Need for Car Wash

You will still need to regularly wash your car. A layer of the ceramic coating does not give your car superpowers to auto-clean itself. While we are all waiting for a miracle product to do that, let’s focus on the bright side of ceramic coating.

  • What is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is commonly known as ‘polishing’ and ‘buffing’ on a vehicle. The purpose is to remove scratches, scuffs, and imperfections in the clear coat layer and enhance the depth of the paint. Although paint correction seems easy, this cannot be rushed and must be properly done for professional and quality results.
